isn't it interesting to see who God emphasizes

on the pages of Holy Scripture?

I think one of the greatest ways to study the Word of God is to study it by its characters.

I've always loved biography.

In fact, here in my study, I've got a whole section of books that are just biographical in nature,

and I love those because the narratives of their life have so much to teach us. Well, that's true in just a

normal biography. Imagine a spirit-inspired record, a Holy Spirit-selected individual that is given to us

on the pages of Holy Scripture. Now, so many of these characters are given for both

positive and negative reasons. So sometimes we learn what to do, sometimes we learn what not to do.

We're turning our attention in this brand new study to one of the great characters of the Bible

that is unusual. He's unusual for many reasons, but he is unusual for this reason, primarily.

Nothing evil is said of this man. Now, a great deal of evil happened to him, but there is no

record of his rebellion or his sinfulness, none of that. And that is not to say that he was not a sinful man because we know all have sinned and

come short of the glory of God.
