Friend of Jerry, episode 16. Still working with retreat, happy to be working with retreat. Retreat has all levels of care for anybody struggling with locations in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, people travel all over from the United States to go to their locations. If you were a loved one struggling then now is the time to call. Don't worry about insurance coverage. Don't worry about who's going to walk your dog. Just make the call to the 24-7 emissions department and your one step closer to changing your life. Another reason I value this sponsor is because of the work they do with the veterans. They have a great veterans program called Healing Our Heroes and it's fully contracted with the VA at every location. The phone number is 855-949-0900. Kev, I actually got my first message from an Instagram about a person, not going to say their name, but who is using retreat right now. Really? Yeah, so it's great man. It's great. You know retreat a great sponsor for us and excited to still work with them all the time And you know will continue to do so. We're doing a good job doing a good job You know, I'm bringing in somebody special right now somebody very very very special He goes by the name ofby burger for those of you who don't know i'm sure you know bruntly done the legend the legend himself here is bobby burger bobby hear me bob i could hear you a okay jerry done it's a lot different now right well we were saying that earlier i mean for me to be the one coming into the zoom call you accepting it coming in |
| 2:26.0 | It's just it's life comes at your full circle, bro. It's crazy. It's crazy Yeah, no, I had you on today because I wanted to switch it up a little bit We're so used to you know getting athletes on and stuff like that and you know I was like, you know, let's do something different for the show and a lot of people have been asking me on Twitter You know Instagram all you got to do something with Bob you got to do something with Bob |
| 2:46.5 | I said fuck it. Let's run it So yeah, dude. I'm excited to have you I'm excited You know it's crazy. No for people don't know How I got my pretty much social media following and fans and stuff Was was from Bob and you know I want to let Bob tell the story because it's pretty funny how we kind of connected so I only take it away a little bomb. Yeah so I mean I was doing I was doing my show I was doing the podcast for a bit and Jerry messaged me I believe you DMed me, Jerry and I as a kid I was always so fascinated with sports talk radio like Like I loved the people that called in sports radio. And like, you know, they would sit around all day and then the questions that they would ask when they got brought on. So you DMed me something about coming on the show or something. I remember just going over to watch your page and you had what's till this day at all the content we've done. My favorite videos of you is when you would call in sports radio, Will Cain. Yes, Francesco. Yeah, and you had a call into Will Cain about that Prescott. And I thought it was the funniest thing. And usually these guys just hang up on you right away. And I'm watching the video and I'm like, they're keeping them on. And there's a reason that they're keeping them on. And I just mean bro I say I save you all the time I just I fell in love with it. Yeah it was great and we made something out of it we did uh you said hey Jerry if you hit your your next 10 bets we'll have you on the show a permanent spot and I think I went over two or over three or something like that I started off. You had to hit seven out of 10. Yes. You went over three. So you came on once a week and you had to hit seven out of 10 to get your own segment on the show. And it was turning into it because you dropped your first three bets. They're like, you know, this guy's a mush. Yeah. And I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, he's so entertaining I want him to win the segment so bad Yeah, and then you went on and you rattled off the next seven which I mean people doing really that that is It's sickening to be able to rattle off seven like the whole story of it Yeah, and some of them were fucking some of them were horses Some of them were plus money bets. You know what I mean? |
| 5:05.8 | I mean, the Tyler hero bet was the biggest sweat. That was the Tyler hero over under was the best, but then it was getting really close to where you could win the segment. My favorite thing is then I told you I said, you are this is what we're going to do, Jerry. I said, if you could call on to sports radio. Yes. when Gordon Hayward was on the Celtics, I said, |
| 5:24.9 | if you could call on to a sports radio show and make a case |
| 5:28.6 | that Gordon Hayward was on the Celtics. I said, if you could call on to sports radio show and make a case that Gordon Hayward is a top 10 player in the NBA, which of course he wasn't. Yeah. And you could last over 57 seconds. We'll count it as a win. And I got that call somewhere. It was one of the funniest call ins to a sports radio show I have ever heard. Dude, it was one of the best times of my life. We had so much fun. I mean, you know, you look back at the videos |
| 5:49.1 | and we send them with... to a sports radio show I have ever heard. Dude, it was one of the best times of my life. |
| 5:45.8 | We had so much fun. I mean, you know, you look back at the videos and we send them, we talk all the time and you just go back and look and it's just so funny. And motherfucker, Jared Don, you may put to be five foot two, but you're a bad five foot two. Now, why do you have to bring that up? You're a bad five foot two so it's Kelly. |
| 6:06.6 | I respect that but why do you have to bring that up? You're a bad 5 foot 2 so is jelly. I respect that but why do you have to bring 5.2 into place? Because 5.2 can drive the pain. 5.2 can work the offense. 5.2 is the orchestrated. Oh without you now you're just making fun of me now. You don't want what do you want jelly to be 6 foot 5, Jerry Don? I'm saying you're missing a point here. Why bring up the height? Well, I mean, you're five foot two, but you're an angry five foot two. You play like you're six foot five and there's something to be said about that. You're missing the point, Bob. Why even mention the height? Because people, people need to know that you may be small, Jerry Don, but you play at good small Now simple and that look roaks we're playing some good basketball, okay? Yeah, I mean the galley trip was Like still to this day my phone has never buzzed like that in my life Dude, you know too It was like we were just having so much fun that we didn't know what the end of the road was like like we didn't know where we wanted it to go like we really have a goal in mind we were just having so much fun that we didn't know what the end of the road was like. |
| 7:05.2 | Like we didn't know where we wanted it to go. Like we don't really have a goal in mind. We were just having so much fun doing it every week and the content that was coming from it. Like I look back on it. It was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life, including that galley trip. Oh, that galley trip. It's just, you know, cutsy. |
| 7:25.9 | You know, now cutsy has really developed into somebody this guy I mean you want to talk about a guy I'm serious kept listen this guy couldn't go on a podcast to save his life a two years ago cutsy you know and Bob would always tell me you know I'm trying to push cutsy to do this, and he's not really getting it, and this guy, Cutsie. |
| 7:46.6 | I mean, he wanna talk about a guy taking off. |
| 7:49.1 | It's Cutsie. |
