Episode 15, Crenda Jerry. Excited to still be working with retreat. Retreat has all levels of care for anybody struggling with locations in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Florida. People travel from all over the United States to go to their locations. Another reason I value this sponsor is because of the work they do with the veterans out there. They got an incredible veteran program called healing our heroes is fully contracted with the VA at every single location. If you or even a loved one is struggling. Now is the time to give them a call. Don't worry about insurance coverage. Don't worry about who's going to walk your dog. |
| 1:26.7 | Just make the call 24, seven admissions department, and you're one step closer to changing your life. Retreat is actually kev. Did I say it? You should say it. Is actually trying to sponsor us for the whole year. Yeah, so that's big That's really big. I value their friendship and they value us on the show So it's really really exciting if you are loved one are still struggling stay strong and give them a call because they can help Numbers 855 949 0900 I'll say it again 855 9-949-0900. I had the best birthday of my, is the second best day of my life. It might just be like the best birthday that anybody has ever had, maybe ever. Probably ever, yeah, I'd say ever. Second best day of my life, first being when my son was born, but I got to have dinner with the Steelers new quarterback Kenny Pickett. This guy dominated the dinner table. The menu selection he went with was some of the best I've ever seen, just professional shrimp cocktail, seafood tower, every type of steak, every appetizer, and then for dessert he had the Nutella cheesecake, which shows so much confidence. He is the guy in Pittsburgh. Now you're with a lot of like pro football players. You know what's class and what's up. Oh, yeah. When you see one. Oh, yes. I mean, I'm not going to mention any names. Danny, the driver was dropping off an NFL player to a hotel room over in New Jersey. God only knows what that NFL guy was doing at the |
| 3:05.6 | hotel room. Who knows? I can tell you this county picket would never do something like that. No, he sounds all class. All class. Good guy. People say his hands are small. His hands are so much bigger than mine. Did you measure them up? Yeah, we measured them up. Okay. Not on camera, but we measured them up. Okay. He is a six foot four all of six foot four and his hands are ginormous Everybody says a half inch hands. He can't play quarterback in the NFL. It's hands are huge Seems like a guy who can really grip a ball So I was never worried about that. No, never worried about you should be nervous actually me as a browns fan Yeah, I mean you had 18 had 18 years of big Ben. And now you get this. That would be my worst nightmare come true, but I feel confident and you don't like Kenny pick it. I do like it. No, let's be honest. Kenny pick it worked out this off season and getting ready for the draft with a close friend of mine who played quarterback at my college. So I have a lot of respect for Kenny. I've heard great things. He's a great guy. I hear great things. Great guy. Hey, listen. The dinner was something that I've never dreamed of before, like seven years ago, like from being next to a dumpster and just wanted to give up so much. And my mom had to come find me and to ship me far away in Arizona. Like in the beginning when I was getting sober I just dreamed of like days like this and I always dreamed of you know one day like I'm such a big steward's fan. One damn gonna meet these guys and one day they're gonna know who I am and just the amount of Pittsburgh like Twitter pages that followed me yesterday and like shouted me out it was so special like I'll never forget moments like this and I'll always be grateful for my sobriety because without that there will never be a dinner with Kenny Pickett. Never, you know what I mean? And I value that friendship. I look forward to us doing a lot of stuff in the future together. I know I'll be at a few games this year with Kenny and hanging out with him and his friends. So it's something special and it was a dream come true for me. Today we have special guests from the Grace Project and it's negative page. Page has been ruthless. Loving you up. Ruthless. I don't give up. When I want something I just keep going. Ruth, she has been ruthless in the DM but I'm happy because once I found out about the Grace project and Paige you know telling me all about it and now I get to finally meet you guys and Megan. I appreciate everything you guys do. It's really special. The project you guys created. Megan is the one who actually started this. So Megan, can you give us a little background of, you know, your life and you know, what like what got you into drugs and why you started this project specifically? Yeah, so I, you know, I got into drugs right after I graduated and it was never like, I didn't expect my life to go where it went. And like fast-forward seven years later, I'm homeless out in Kensington. I've been homeless in Overtown, out in Florida, California, all over the place. So it kinda got to the point where it was like, how did I get here? And I felt like I had no one. |
| 6:26.4 | Like my family, through the horrible things that I did to them, like barely had any contact with me, you know, like I was completely alone. And in that time, like what changed at this point, I had been in treatment 70 times. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, 71's my number. So when I got to the point at like my, you know, my turning point, it was 70 times. |
| 6:45.7 | And it was a complete stranger |
| 6:47.4 | that literally showed me kindness. |
| 6:49.2 | And there was a couple. I was in the first place, and I was in the first place. I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, |
| 6:46.0 | and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, |
| 6:48.0 | and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, |
| 6:50.0 | and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, |
| 6:52.0 | and I was in the first place, and I was in the first place, |
| 6:54.0 | And it all came up to this last moment where a woman literally came up to me. |
| 6:58.4 | Didn't know me from anybody else and was telling me like she was watching. |
