This is the greatest hour to follow Jesus.

Wow, I want to talk about the beatitudes tonight.

Hopefully you enjoyed last week's teaching.

I've been talking just about the hour we're in and unity.

And can I just say that we need bold Bible preaching, Jesus-loving leaders to lift their voice right now?

This is not the time to shrink back, but what we're discovering is that fervor only takes you so far. And for too long,

for too long, we thought fervor was fire. And fire and fervor are very different.

Jesus said that we would be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

We would receive power to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.

John said there was one coming after him.

While John baptized in water, he said there's one coming after me

who will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire.

And fire.

Now, believe it or not, that fire statement, that baptism of fire does speak in many ways of the last days, the final hours of the church.

The fire of God would come and bring a great purging.

What we need is the power of the Holy Spirit again.

And so there is one way to be bathed in this spirit, and that is to be with Jesus. Now we're not with Jesus so that we can receive something better. I'm not saying

that Jesus is a means to a ministry. No, he is not, but I am saying this.

We need voices right now who have died to themselves, who have discovered life in that death.

And it's upon those lives that the Holy Spirit comes upon. Remember, the cross

is a magnet for the Holy Spirit. And so I want to speak directly to leaders right now. Pastors,

we need your voice. We need your voice to preach the gospel, gospel of Jesus Christ it is the gospel and the gospel alone
