On the morning of April 22, 1999, 12-year-old Yvonne Sabagal left his home in Viacen,

in Viacensio, Colombia.

He headed over to Los Angeles Park.

Ivan's family couldn't afford his school expenses,

so Ivan sold lottery tickets at the park in order to pay for his books and supplies.

Yvonne's mother waited for him to come home at the usual time that evening.

Yet the young boy never returned.

His mother quickly called the police,

but it was too late.

Ivan had already been lured into the Colombian jungle

by Louis Salfredo Garavito, the world's most prolific child killer.

By April 22nd, 1999, Garavito had already raped, tortured, and murdered at least 138 young boys.
