Good morning everyone and welcome back to another morning with the Masters where we devote

ourselves to the Lord daily with you. Good morning you guys. We are picking up with

the new devotional in the Bible app called Live No Lies, which is devotional by John

Mark Comer, one of Tory Save It Authors. There's a link to it in the description of the

podcast. If you guys want to follow along with us and as always I'm going to read the

scripture and Tory is going to pick up with the diva. Let's do it. The scripture is

second Corinthians chapter 10 verse 4 and it says this.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but they have divine power to destroy

strongholds. The devotional is titled a war for the soul and it says, if I had to name

what it feels like to follow Jesus in today's cultural moment, I would say it feels like

a war for the soul. We feel this constant conflict, not just out there in culture or our

digital news feeds, but inside the fabric of our own minds and bodies. It kind of inner

tug of war that is emotionally exhausting and spiritually depleting, a tearing at

the fabric of our soul's peace. Why do we feel so tired, worn down? Why do we feel so

battered and bruised? Why does every day feel like a battle just to stay faithful to keep

following Jesus? Here's an idea, maybe because it is. For centuries, teachers of the way

of Jesus used a paradigm that's been lost in the modern era, that of three enemies

of the soul. There's the world, the flesh, and the devil. They saw these three enemies

of the soul as a kind of counter-trendy to God himself. While the exact phrase, the

world, the flesh, and the devil isn't used by Jesus or the writers of the New Testament,

the language and categories are. One of Paul's most famous sayings is, in 1 Timothy 6-12,
