Hello folks and welcome back to another one of our political chats.

This time we're going to be talking about everyone's favorite and most pressing topic, the local elections.

Oh yes.

No one cares about local elections, but the political class are really invested in local elections because people view it as a kind of bellwether.

Well, this one kind of matters because they're all disintegrating.

But as we've seen from our polls over the past few weeks, in fact, all of the shows that we've done, you can tell that reform is in first place, but after that, it's just pure guesswork.

Well, the political commentariats are not wrong in that there is a kind of bellwether effect. And this is what we will be looking at.

So these are the local councils that are going to be having elections.

For some reason, in England, it's not national.

It's just not done all at once.

It's a rotating thing.

So some councils have it, but the rest will have it in a different year. I don't know why.

It just no one cares about local elections. I mean, I literally no one cares. I can see my areas

in it. Is Swindon in it? Swindon is in it. You can see it there in the southwest and the northeast of

Great Yarmouth is also in it. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be picked up on this map, but we'll get back to that later.

Anyway, so as I said, like literally no one votes in these, in 2024, 30% was the average voter turnout?

Yeah, but an opinion poll is maybe 2,000 people.

Sure.

This is going to be hundreds of thousands of people.

So it's going to be better than any opinion poll.

It will still be millions.

I mean, it'll be about 10 million people who vote.
