I'm pretty good, man. It's nice to be chatting with you, one to one.

but potentially next week, I'm going to see some of our lovely Deadcast viewers at the Deadspin Awards.

It's really good stuff. I was just thinking about how strange it's going to be that everybody that I work with is going to be all dressed up. What happened last year, though? Everyone dressed up and looked really nice. We were all like, wow, we look good. We don't look like bloggers. We look like actual human beings. And that's always a nice feeling. Yeah, it was. Although also the next day, showing up at the office and everybody's just right back in the toilet again was also very gratifying.

We were actually, we were supposed to do a deadcast the next day. I remember we were supposed to record a podcast. And I was, I was very over-served.

That's not how I remember normally, I can shake off.

I can usually shake off a hangover with Advil and a lot of water and plow through the day.

I'm miserable, but I can plow through the day.

This was of a whole other ilk.

My head was a fucking toilet.

A formal dress hangover is really, nothing prepares you for what happens.

Once you put that cummerbund on, your body's confused, doesn't know how to act.

Our producer Monday was like, are you sure you can't do it?

I was like, I'm personal.

We're doing one after the awards this year, but we're both going to be very disciplined. Neither one of us is going to have a single drop to drink at the Desmond Awards. Actually, I have last the last few times I've hosted, I would usually have like a warm-up beverage or two or three, you know. I'm not going to do that this year. I'm going to host, I'm going to host sober. I'm going to be dead sober and on point for the entire ceremony. Hell yeah. Yeah, no, this is, I think part of doing the live dead cats, what's that, what it has taught me is, like, not to actually do what I feel like doing, which is like, I'm always a little anxious about going out there in front of people.

And, like, ordinarily, like, just for the first 40 years of my life, my way of responding to that sort of anxiety is to just pour scotch on it until it's dead. Yeah, that's not smart. It doesn't give, especially if people are paying, you know, the idea of me being like, maybe I feel better. I don't know. I won't remember.

And then everybody else is kind of like that guy.
