It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon in central Stockholm.

Inside the NK department store, shoppers drifted between floors, hands brushing hangars,

footsteps echoing softly across polished floors.

Nothing fell out of place.

Nothing felt urgent.

Among them was Anna Lind, Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Just days earlier, her face had been everywhere, printed on posters, flashing across television

screens, a central figure in the heated campaign ahead of a national

referendum. But inside the department store, she was just another customer. No entourage, no security,

nothing. She moved through the women's clothing section alone. At some point, a man began to trail her.

He kept his distance at first, blending into the rhythm of the store,

riding the escalators just a few seconds behind her,

pausing when she paused.

CCTV cameras would later show him watching from above, leaning over a railing,

his eyes fixed on her movements below. Then, without a word, he closed the gap. In a matter
