Hello and welcome to episode 22 of the UK Drew Crown Weekly Podcast. I'm Adam.

This week we are in Essex, a county very close to my heart. Essex is immediately northeast

of London with the longest coastline of any county in England at 350 miles. And there

was a keen sailor, I know that most of that coastline is mud.

For today's episode we go back to May 2007, when Rihanna, featuring Jay-Z, were number

one in the UK charts around Brunner, whereas in the US, the number one slot was taken by,

and this is a particular favourite of mine, T.P. Payne featuring young Jock with By Your

Drank. This was the month when Madeline McCann disappeared from her bed in Portugal,

and I bet you all have your own views on this Hope profile case.

Alex Sammond was elected First Minister of Scotland. He was the first Scottish National

Party leader to be elected as First Minister after winning an historic victory at the Scottish

General Election on 3 May. In France, it was a victory for all short men, as Nicholas

Sarcosi became president of the country, and at the Cannes Film Festival, the Coen Brothers

film No Country for Old Men Premiered. Now my memories of that film were of terror for

all the wrong reasons. Flying from New York to Vegas, I experienced the worst turbulence

of my life, I didn't pay much attention to the plot. It was around 7.30am on Friday

25 May 2007, for A&E staff in South End General Hospital received a call from the ambulance

crew to prepare for a severely injured man with gunshot wounds. As the victim, 26-year-old

Adam MAPUSON was rushed into theatre, doctors assessed his condition as critical. The

bullet had entered through the chest, travelled upwards, and miraculously missed the major

archery because it hit the bone which knocked it away. The bleeding, it caused there was nothing
