so my guest today is Gabe Sherman. He's a journalist and author and now the

screenwriter behind a new movie called The Apprentice.

It's a fictionalized version of Donald Trump's career or professional life or whatever you want

to call what he did in the 70s and 80s, but it's basically Trump in the 70s and

80s, the creation of Donald Trump, the caricature perhaps, might be a better way to

describe it. At the center of the story is Trump's relationship with Roy Cohn. He's a lawyer known for his aggressive

sort of tactics inside and outside the courtroom. Basically he was a believer in

always counter, essentially always counter sue never accept a premise of a

legal problem take a legal problem and turn it in and flip the problem to the other side.

are you full- time with Vanity Fair?

give me sort of the elevator pitch of Gabe Sherman, Inc.

I am a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, which is just a fancy way of saying I cover national politics for the magazine and

specifically focus on a Trump world writ large, which is a ever evolving and changing cast of characters.
