Welcome to our daily rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today the church celebrates the feast of the annunciation. No it's not March 25th, it's April 8th, but

because March 25th fell on Monday of Holy Week.

This great feast was transferred

so that we could celebrate it in all its joy today in the midst of the Easter season.

So we really should celebrate this day.

And any day I get for feasting and friends, I'll take it.

When the angel Gabriel came to Mary, he was inviting her to become the mother of the

incarnate son. Mary, by saying yes to God's plan, brought God to Earth and

supplied him with a human nature.

Mary was in fact intimately involved in bringing about the

incarnation.

Jesus was fully God and fully man and Mary supplied the humanity.

But Jesus' mission wasn't just to become man.

As Fulton Sheen says, Jesus was the only person ever born with the mission to die.

He had come to save us and he would save us on the cross. And Mary in saying yes to the

incarnation was agreeing to give Christ the materials with which to save the world.

Our Father who art in heaven, hollow would be your name, thy kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
