Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today is divine mercy Sunday.

Jesus revealed to St. Faustina that on this day he would pour out a whole ocean of graces upon anyone who would go to confession and receive Holy Communion on this day.

Jesus promised that we would receive complete forgiveness of our sins

and the removal of all the temporal consequences of our sin.

To receive this great mercy for ourselves

or for a deceased person in purgatory, Jesus explained that we should go to

confession and receive Holy Communion. Pope Benedict extended the time to go to confession for up to 20 days after Divine Mercy Sunday

if we go with the intention of fulfilling the requirements of the feast.

Jesus said to Faustina, tell the whole world about my inconceivable mercy.

I desire that the feast of mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls and especially for poor sinners.

On that day the very depths of my tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of

graces upon those souls who approach the fountain of my mercy, the soul that

will go to confession and receive holy communion shall obtain

complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.

Now to receive this indulgence we must also pray one our father and hail Mary for the

intentions of the Pope and though not absolutely necessary, Jesus encouraged us also to venerate an image of

divine mercy by displaying it in a place of honor in our home or perish and to pray the divine mercy chaplain on this day.

For our Lord said, I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of sinners, but woe to them if they do not recognize

this time of my visitation.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
