Festivists. Yes. Festivists. So, Carl, tell me about Festivists. What is Festivists?

All right. Well, for those who weren't Seinfeld fans or aren't Seinfeld fans, this is a holiday that was introduced

on an episode of Seinfeld. It was a, you know, Festivist is a holiday for the rest of us.

Right. The idea. Yeah. And there were two major, well, three major parts of it. Four, if you include the Festivist meal.

One was the airing of grievances. The airing of grievances. No, I. Yeah.

And I also had feats of strength, right? Feats of strength. Feats of meal and the Festivist

pole and the Festivist pole and the clock in the bag, right? Well, the, okay. So the original

holiday, there was this came from a real thing that was started by one of the writers on the show.

All right. Dan O'Keefe. And it was a tradition started by his father, Daniel O'Keefe,

senior. And if you go to Festivistweb.com and look at the origin of Festivists, you can, it has

this story here. The senior O'Keefe originally invented Festivists is a way to have a holiday that

was secular and not burdened by the religiousness and commercialism of the holiday season.

According to Family Folklore, the first Festivist occurred in 1966 on the occasion of the first

date of Daniel and as soon to be fiance Deborah. Throughout the 70s and 80s, Daniel O'Keefe continued

to make Festivist an annual tradition among the O'Keefe clan. It had no set date. It could occur at

any time of the year, usually never at Christmas. And I guess Daniel O'Keefe, who was inspired by

this Samuel Beckett play, craps last tape, whose protagonist tapes himself speaking at different times
