Over the past several weeks, we've been diving deep on how AI is impacting everything from education to health care.

And today's edition is focused on AI and the economy.

I'm thrilled to be joined once again by Shania Shelton, our special projects reporter who is going to be sharing what she learned.

You start with a look at the state of play

and how the economic promises of AI are endless.

Talk a little bit about that.

Well, AI is really transforming the economy.

Major tech companies are increasing their spending on AI tools.

The technology is also improving efficiency in the workplace,

and small businesses are using it too to boost their productivity and handle various tasks.

Lawmakers have focused on pushing for legislation that helps educate small businesses with resources on how to appropriately incorporate AI and legislation that aims to find solutions for displaced workers.

AI has been a huge part of economic activity over the last couple of years,

and it will be interesting to see how the technology continues to dominate.
