0:42.1	soldier of Jesus Christ. We've been studying in Ephesians chapter 6, and in verse number 11 we read
0:48.2	that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. There's the adversary. And in verse number 16,
0:55.7	wherewith ye shall be able to quench
0:57.8	all the fiery darts of the wicked.
1:00.6	There's the victory.
1:02.2	My friend, while you're looking at the adversary,
1:04.4	don't forget that greater is he that is in you
1:07.2	than he that is in the world.
1:09.0	We've talked already about the devil's defiance against God and his desire for us.
1:14.2	But today, let's talk about his deceit and his defeat.
1:18.0	The devil's deceit is summarized in this little word, wiles.
1:22.4	The wiles of the devil.
1:24.2	The idea is his strategic plan and his cunning devices. We know the first time we're
1:31.4	introduced to the devil in Scripture, he comes as a serpent in that day, a beautiful creature
1:37.2	and a subtle creature, one that could slither up and could present itself in a beautiful way, an appealing way,
1:47.0	not a frightening way, as we might think of a snake today.
