Summary

Tonight's story is called The Adventures of Florian by Henry Beston. A lovely tale of a young girl who disguises herself as a boy to be able to get work and gets hired as a squire due to her bravery and dedication. He (she) does everything in her power to protect her Prince whom she falls in love with secretly and eventually sacrifices her own safety to rescue him from imprisonment by an evil witch. Will the Prince find out that Florian is actually Isabella? Will he fall in love with her too? Let's find out together! And so, lights out, lie back and let's get sleepy together!

1:27.9	Once upon a time, there lived in an old and ruinous house by the shore of the Wild Sea,
1:34.4	a widowed nobleman and his only child, a daughter, named Isabella. They were very
1:41.7	poor in spite of their high birth, so poor that one by one the fields and woods of their
1:48.9	little domain had been sold in order to buy the bare necessities of life. Knowing that
1:56.4	his death would leave Isabella quite alone in the world and practically panieless, her
2:02.0	father brought her up more like a boy than a girl. She could ride a horse as gracefully
2:08.4	as an Amazon. She could swim like a born mermaid and even outdo her father in his favorite
2:16.2	sport of fencing. Yet so sweet was the gentle nature which the girl had inherited from
2:23.2	her mother that this strange upbringing never spoiled her in the least.
2:30.5	Late one October evening when the fierce gusts of wind from the sea shook the old house
2:36.1	to its very foundation and set the ragged tapestries swaying on the walls, Isabella's
2:42.8	father died, leaving her only their ruinous house, a handful of copper pence and a single
2:49.4	golden flooring. The sum of money was enough to keep body and soul together for a few weeks,
