Summary

On Friday, September 2, 2022, Eliza Fletcher left her home for an early morning jog at around 4am. She was an avid runner who had qualified for the Boston Marathon previously. She often jogged at this time to fit in her daily exercise as she was a busy mother-of-two and a Junior Kindergarten teacher.

A man named Cleotha Henderson was prowling the streets of Memphis, TN at this time. He spotted Eliza running and pulled up ahead her of her in a dark SUV. When Eliza reached his him, he jumped out and forced her into his vehicle. This was the beginning of Eliza’s nightmare.

Eliza’s body was found dumped near an abandoned house on September 6. We are still waiting for confirmation of her cause of death. Was Eliza targeted by Cleotha due to her family wealth or was this a terrifyingly random crime?
