So what scholars have shown, if I'm going to read a passage from Isaiah 61.

And then I'll read another passage from Zachary 9-9.

So in Isaiah 61, we see that Jesus

shows up in Luke chapter 4 at the at the synagogue. And he comes in, people, this is a well-known

story. You know, it's typical for rabbis. He was a rabbi them to come in and and he's there in nazareth and

they say hey once you read something so he gets up and what but what he does though is he reads

uh they they had something called the the Torah readings or the haf Torah readings where it's on a

schedule it's it's worldwide right now it's pretty cool if you if you go to go to any synagogue in the world and they're reading the same material that day it's it's it's on a schedule. It is a lectionary. Okay. So this goes way back to the first century at least. So Jesus comes up and they go, hey, would you come read? So he says, I'll read. I'm going to read today.

So here in this passage, it says this, the spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. This is verse two, to proclaim the acceptable

year of the Lord. And then in Luke chapter four, it says he stops there to proclaim, acceptable,

Your Lord, and he closes the scroll.

Well, it's interesting, and he gets up, and then he says,

today, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.

I mean, whoa, I mean, this is, this is total messianic prophecy.

But if you notice, what, whoa, I mean, this is this is total messianic prophecy. But if you notice, what is the next verse, the next half, the next sentence of Isaiah 61.

I'll read Isaiah 61 verse 2 and it's full.

It says, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, comma, and the day of vengeance

of our God, to comfort all who mourn. It's interesting here that if you finish going through this,

the rest of it, it's talking about, again, the good news, but the day of vengeance of the Lord,

which we understand to be the day of Lord, the day of wrath,
