My name is Joseph and I am a physician and musician based in Toronto

Risk was one of the first podcasts I ever started listening to just over 10 years ago

When I was freshly done with college and struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with my life

I was applying to medical school and was also trying to figure out what I wanted to pursue music full time

I was working an office job during tedious administrative work and listening to this podcast really took me through that year of my life

Listening to some of the stories was so inspirational and made me feel not so alone in this juncture of my life

I was also struggling with my sexuality and having such an unapologetically queer podcast was something that was so welcome for me

At that time I started working on my music and actually wrote an interstitial inspired by the podcast that was an ode to taking risks and pursuing my dreams

But I chickened out and sending it until many years later

Fast forward 10 years and I did both music and medicine

I am a practicing physician working in HIV medicine and I just released my debut album titled It Came to Me in a Dream

I still listened to the podcast religiously and even included a studio version of the interstitial titled The Risk in this album
