And money in life can be really complex, so boiling it down to the simple basics is really important.

So today, here are five lists that I make after Christmas to start the New Year Strong.

List number one, the return list.

I know you don't keep every gift that you're given

and or your kids, yes.

So you do not wanna miss the return window

because that means that gift is gonna just sit in the back seat of your car. So make a list, gather those receipts and just know, okay, I got to take this back, maybe get a different size here. The kids got duplicates of this because of that grandparent and that grandparent. So we're going to give this one and like make the list and have the items somewhere like in a closet or something that's all right there, so you can get that money back or do the exchange that you need.

Number two is a gratitude list.

So start practicing gratitude.

If you have not put this into your life, do it.

I'm good at this, different seasons, I'll be honest.

Sometimes I'm really good at it.

Sometimes I fall off the wagon.

But there is something,

and studies have shown this, that when you start your day with gratitude, something literally chemically changes in your body and in your brain. Like there is something so powerful about

knowing, hey, there are things in my life that I'm grateful for. And even if you're in a hard season,

searching for that gratitude is not just a band-aid to make you feel better, but it is a way to turn our focus and our perspective in life.

And I talk about contentment a lot, but contentment is so powerful. And I think one of the steps

to actually get to that is gratitude. So start that list. Maybe it's three things that you're

grateful for. I don't care
