Summary

When I take a snapshot of my financial decisions from the last 25 years, I can clearly see five mistakes that have cost me a painfully large amount of money. I'm looking back on what I should've done differently, including my investment plan, my lack of passive income, buying a home too early, and what financial advice I followed.

Regardless of how old you are or where you are with your finances, my story proves that it's never too late to become unapologetically wealthy!

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • How much money I've missed out on because I didn't prioritize building long-term wealth when I was younger

  • My rule-of-thumb for figuring out if I can afford something now

  • Why I recommend automatically investing into low-cost index funds

  • Passive income sources that I wish I started up earlier

  • My controversial take on home ownership

  • An honest look at where I settled for average advice

Hey everybody, welcome back to the Chris Harder Show. It's another money Monday here where we

1:16.4

absolutely believe that both prosperity and generosity can and must coexist. So today I was kind

1:22.9

reflecting back and I thought, I wonder how much money I've missed out on in my life and

1:28.4

it's kind of an impossible number to figure out, but I came up with a really conservative number.

1:34.2

And I came up with this number based on what do I think the minimum per year that I could have

1:41.4

averaged in investing that I didn't, that I instead pissed away somewhere when I was young and

1:49.0

dumb and ignorant. So I took that number, that minimum amount that I thought it could have been

1:53.2

based on my earnings and just knowing what I spent money on in dumb places and et cetera.
