Marriage is not a cakewalk. It takes a lot of work and it takes a lot of, I think, self-awareness.

It takes a lot of awareness around what the battlefield, if you will. God has layered it with purpose. He's layered it with goodness. He's layered it with beauty and truth and ways that we can be sanctified. It illustrates, you know, his covenant with us, his people, and we walk that out every day in our marriage. The whole context for anything that we would have in our hands is what is that thing going to be used for?

Like having the thing gives you no purpose. You could have the fanciest hammer in the world, but if you don't have something meaningful to build, that hammer is pointless. As sinners, we have this propensity to disorder our loves, to create idols out of things that we're never supposed to be the gods in our lives.

And instead of worshipping him, instead of following him, we often puff ourselves up and think that we know better.

If all you ever knew about sex was what you discovered as a married couple without outside influences of media and pornography and whatnot, how would your sex life look?

Yeah. and whatnot. How would your sex life look? Selina, what is the most of what is the most amazing thing about being married to me?

Are you really asking that? Well, you said in the notes, the marriage is amazing,

It is amazing to be married to you.

no one loves me.

Oh. you make me feel. Fair enough. No, you're very selfless. You're a great work, hard worker.

You're smart. You're wonderful. You're going to say you're a great workaholic. No, you love us well. You provide. You protect. You do all the things. You check the boxes. This was unanticipated. I didn't anticipate you having all these reasons. Wow. But you know, there are things that can poison this amazing well of a marriage.
