I am your host, Megan Schuster, and I'm joined as always by Spaners. I don't know what a draft is. I'm just constantly being drip-fed American-ness, and I assume that this is another American-Nus. That's the entire goal of this podcast. We're just going to pick the drivers that we like based on vibes and then we're going to have this competition

throughout the whole season I assume. So despite not knowing what a draft is, I'm determined to win

it. It's confident. And I'm determined to undermine the confidence of my co-competitors. I have

compromising AI generated images of producer Steve and I have cash to trade and barter with as well. There you go. We are joined also in studio today by Nate Saunders of ESPN and F1 journalist and broadcaster Chris Medland. So I thought this was a draft beer. That would have been more fun. Yeah, I thought the same thing. We just got a good draft. Maybe a little half time. And it's on Meg. Yeah, it's the boss. 100%. So Spanner said we are gathered here today to do something a little fun and also hopefully a little bit competitive. We are doing an F1 driver points draft. So how this is going to work is producer Steve has sent us a random draft order. So you all heard it come through the microphones earlier.

So know that I did not set it personally. I would like that on the record. And from there,

we'll do a snake draft. The goal is to create a team. We'll each have five drivers in the end with

two left over. So apologies to whoever's left over. But we want a team that will have the most

driver points by the end of the season.

So this will give us an opportunity, I think, to talk a little bit about the drivers, but also

about where cars are going to stack up for this season, which I think is the big question

going into this regulation set. And yeah, we'll be able to track our teams throughout the

season and see whose pre-season assumptions were correct.

Obviously, like, we're up against proper journalists. Yeah, I'm a little terrified, to be honest. I've actually prepped a draft order as well. Nate came in hot. So I was like, heard fantasy and I was like, I'm in. Don't care what it is, where it is. I see why you say that about Nate now. Yeah, exactly. He messaged me before coming in here.
