You might think of it as an election year, and it certainly is, but it's also going

to be a year of trials as in in the courtroom trials.

So let's start out with the Justice Department.

Every now and then, every couple of years, the attorney general doesn't matter who the

attorney general is, or whatever administration, Republican or Democrat that the attorney

general serves, the AG writes a memo called election year sensitivities.

Now, the purpose of the memo is to remind the Justice Department's employees, and there

are 115,000 employees in the Justice Department, the purpose is to remind those 115,000 Justice

Department employees that they should not allow politics to influence their work.

Now, on May the 25th of 2022, last year, Merrick Garland, our current attorney general,

wrote his version of election year sensitivities, and I'm going to read a little bit from that

memo, quote, Department of Justice employees are entrusted with the authority to enforce

the laws of the United States and with the responsibility to do so in a neutral and impartial

manner.

This is particularly important in an election year, okay?

So I'm going to continue here, simply put, partisan politics must play no role in the decisions

of federal investigators or prosecutors regarding any investigations or criminal charges.
