Summary

Skip straight to the case: (9:41)

On July 15, 1986, Christopher Abeyta was around 7 months old.  He fell asleep in his older sister’s arms and was carried to his crib, which was located three feet from the bed of his parents.

When his mother Bernice awoke the following morning, Christopher was nowhere to be seen.   Now, almost 40 years later, no trace of Christopher has ever been found.

The Abeyta family are adamant that someone known to the family abducted Christopher.   They have publicly named a woman as a suspect.  This woman was having an affair with Christopher’s father Gil, and was known to have a history of mental health issues.

Could someone have abducted Christopher and raised him as their own?  Or was the baby a victim of foul play?

Thank you. What's up, guys? Welcome back to another episode, True Crime Society podcast with Stephanie and Olivia. It is July 20th. I literally am looking at the date. I don't know why my brain was just like what month is number seven. It's the end of the day here. It's like 8 p.m. I'm 35 weeks pregnant right now. And pregnancy brain is like pretty serious. I've never felt so dumb in my life, honestly.

1:35.7

So I'm sorry if anyone on the podcast has noticed because sometimes I like even can't think of words. I feel like it doesn't get any better to for a while after you have the baby.

1:41.4

I remember once. I heard people say that. I kind of remember which baby it was, but we went to like the mall. And when I got back to the car, I'm like, where are the car keys? And I'd left them on top of the car. And I think I'd like, they were still there. Thank God for that. But yeah. The amount of times I have to use my watch to find my cell phone in a day is like ridiculous because I just can't remember where I put it down. Whereas normally I'm not like that at all. I could find it fairly quickly. But now I'm like four times a day. I got to be like ring phone. I have no idea where it is and I literally just had it. It's pretty much always like right next to me somewhere. I just can't find it. Same with like being going to like Google something or like you open your phone for some reason to like look something up or be like, oh, I have to order this. I have to do this. And like as soon as I unlock my phone, I'm like, wait, what am I doing? And it's gone. I feel like sometimes I, yeah, it doesn't get much better. I know if it's the hormones or what, but it plays havoc with your brain.

2:37.1

Well, as long as everyone remembers, I used to be smart.

2:39.8

I used to be quick.

2:41.6

Those days are maybe over.

2:44.2

But yeah, so currently 35 weeks pregnant, when this comes out, it'll probably be 37, which is kind of scary. We've been

2:55.9

trying to work on the nursery. I've been trying to get so much done. But it's hard because I've

3:00.1

gotten to the point where I've said this for months where I'm like uncomfortable, but it just

3:04.2

keeps getting like worse and worse and more uncomfortable and more uncomfortable

3:07.8

but we tried putting a new light in the nursery this weekend and it was just like a big to-do

3:15.6

for some reason because I live in an older house so nothing is ever just cut and dry nothing ever

3:20.7

lines up straight is just always a fiasco to begin with.

3:25.0

And then it's a light basically where you attach, you drill part into the ceiling.
