Summary

Timestamp to start the case: (13:23)

In April 1993, Andrea and Russell ‘Rusty’ Yates were married.   They told friends and family that they wanted to ‘have as many babies as nature allowed.’

Between 1995 and 2000, the couple had five children - four sons and a daughter.

Andrea struggled with her mental health.  After the birth of their fourth child, Andrea was hospitalized and the couple were advised to not have any more children.  Andrea’s doctor said that any more births would "guarantee future psychotic depression."

Despite this, the couple had a fifth child and Andrea’s mental health decline continued.  She stopped taking all of her medication, she mutilated and cut herself, read the Bible obsessively and also stopped feeding the children.

Rusty had been advised to not leave Andrea alone with the children.  Despite this, one morning in June 2001, Rusty left Andrea and the kids so that he could go to work.  His mother was scheduled to arrive at the home one hour after he left.

In that hour, Andrea filled the bathtub and drowned all five of her children - they were aged between 7 months old and 7 years old at the time.

When police arrived at the home, Andrea was standing soaking wet in front of the house.

“I just killed my children,” she told the officers.

Thank you. what's up guys we're back to another episode of true crime society podcast with stephan Olivia. It is July 17th right now. We're back. We had a week off. I went on a vacation, which was super fun. I had a great time relaxing. It was very nice to swim as being a huge pregnant whale because, oh my God, like the weight

0:57.4

being taken off my, I guess your pelvis or whatever it is felt so good because I have so

1:02.6

much pain when I walk now. I always go in the pool, but like this year I stayed in the pool.

1:10.8

So it was lovely.

1:13.6

Olivia, unfortunately, didn't have as lovely of a week while I was away and got in big trouble

1:20.5

with the meta world somehow.

1:23.8

Well, I didn't, I shouldn't have actually been in trouble.

1:25.9

It's like an absolute them error.

1:27.4

But we've just spoken about a lot about this in Patreon, but basically meta AI has gone rogue.

1:32.7

It seems to be with mainly non-US people a lot in Asia, South Pacific, which is me.

1:38.4

Great. Thankfully. But I was just scrolling Instagram about a week ago. Sorry, Facebook about a week ago.

1:43.6

All of a sudden it popped up account suspended. I put in an appeal straight away. It was basically automatically denied. I'm like, what is going on permanently disabled my Facebook account, which is linked to all the true crime stuff, permanently disabled my Instagram accounts just because they were linked to meta, which is wild to me. None of these accounts

2:01.3

had any strikes. I had no warning. I'm like, what is going on? So over the past week, I've been

2:06.0

doing a bunch of research. There's something going on. Meta actually announced this week.

2:12.5

They have removed 10 million accounts for spam and like cutting down on crappy AI content. And I just want to like clarify not once in my life have I ever used AI to make any content for social media. No it's all that bullshit you get that we've definitely talked about. I don't know if I're a patron with like a grand-lop-nine. This guy turned a hundred. Yeah. Yeah. Holding a cake. Can you have some 100 likes for his 100th birthday and all this? And like, even I'm like, when I log on to Facebook, I see a million Elon Musk's on there. Like, why are they not banning these people? My account was under my legal name. I could have provided ID. He wasn't given a chance. Anyway, long story short, we've applied for Meta Verified on True Crime Society. I've since tried twice. One person was a bot

2:52.5

and just was very basically unhelpful. The other person tried for the entire day to help me.

2:56.9

She actually called me and in the end she said that from her end she cannot see what the

3:01.6

restriction is. I'll just read it out because I just, her comment, you know, made me laugh
