Summary

On July 2nd,1966, 3 young suburban Chicago women drove to a popular beach south of Chicago on Lake Michigan, parked their car, and walked to a spot on the beach at Indiana Dunes State Park. They were last seen getting on a boat with 3 men- and from there they disappeared, never to be seen again. Their blankets and personal effects were all left behind. A huge manhunt ensued. Detectives were left without a shred of evidence- despite lots of clues to their private lives and their associates. 1:05.5	is no stranger to human disasters, especially when it comes to ships,
1:09.5	as over 1,000 ships have sunk in the past 200 years.
1:15.0	Well, this story isn't about a ship or a boat wreck at least as far as we know.
1:20.0	It's about three young women who parked their blankets and belongings on a crowded beach
1:24.7	and walked out onto the lake.
1:26.8	Then we're seeing boarding a boat, never to be seen again, despite a massive manhunt that
1:31.9	involved the Navy, Coast Guard, and Park Rangers,
1:35.0	and their fates were swallowed up as deep as any of the Great Lakes shipwrecks,
1:39.0	with no trace of what happened to them after 60 years of searching.
1:45.0	Lake Michigan borders Illinois on the west and Michigan on the east, but it's the
1:50.4	south end that belongs to Indiana and which draws much of the tourist
1:53.9	traffic in the summer. And on that south beach as it's called, you'll find
1:58.4	Indiana Dunes State Park.
