She and her husband have the same argument, on a loop. Different trigger, same wound.

The second woman has stopped fighting altogether. She's not angry. She's not hurt, not even bored.

She just feels nothing. But nothing? Nothing is where marriages go to die. The two women are not

in different marriages. They're in the same marriage. At different points in the same road, both of them, if nothing changes, are headed for the same direction.

Now, I have to give you some really strong truths. The truth is in the Muslim community, we are losing our marriages. Muslim divorce rates in North America are now probably only up to

50% almost. In parts of the Muslim world like Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, they're pushing already higher.

And the marriages that don't end in divorce, many of them are either just locked in to some

exhausted conflict repeat. They can't leave because it's a shame to the family and all that stuff.

The things that might all have children, right? Now, both of these situations, the constant fighting, the eerie calm are symptoms of the same crisis.

The Muslim community has almost no language for either of them.

This is not a Western problem that just crept into Muslim households.

This is our problem.

It has been built for a long time.

Now, the research tells us that almost all couples who end up in divorce made serious efforts before reconciling before reaching that point,

that means they wanted to save it.

They just didn't know how or they waited too long.
