Some of the most unhealthy foods don’t contain any sugar! Maltodextrin is in 60% of our foods, and most people don’t even know it’s there. Although maltodextrin spikes your blood sugar significantly more than sugar and glucose, it’s not classified as a sugar; it’s classified as a complex carbohydrate.
Maltodextrin is found in infant formula, protein powder, and weight gain shakes. Maltodextrin and other industrial starches, such as cornstarch and modified food starch, are used as fillers to add bulk to a product.
Not only does maltodextrin contribute to blood sugar issues, weight gain, and a fatty liver, but it also does the following:
• Destroys the gut lining
• Supports the colonization of Salmonella and other pathogens
• Depletes vitamin B1
Avoid this carbohydrate!

| 0:00.0 | The most damaging carb on planet Earth is not sugar. In fact, in a lot of situations, |
| 0:06.0 | it's advertised as, oh, zero sugar, so it's healthy. Here's the big problem. It's in 60% of our |
| 0:12.2 | foods without our awareness. And I'm just going to tell you what it is, malto dextrin, |
| 0:18.1 | which is classified not as a sugar, but it acts more like a sugar than sugar |
| 0:23.5 | acts like sugar. Let's just take a look at an apple. On the glycemic index, it's 36. Table sugar is 65. |
| 0:31.6 | Glucose is 100. Maltodextrin on the glycemic index, this is the index that actually shows how fast your blood sugar spikes starts at 136 and go up to 180. |
| 0:45.3 | So this is very, very, very weird and it got my attention, so I did a deep dive into it. |
| 0:50.3 | I'm going to share some fascinating information. |
| 0:52.3 | It's not classified as a sugar because a sugar |
| 0:55.6 | has one or two sugar units. So they can call that a sugar. But here's the thing. When you have a |
| 1:02.0 | third sugar unit, maybe up to 17 sugar units, it's no longer called sugar. It's called a complex |
| 1:10.2 | carbohydrate, aka starch. Okay, so this is |
| 1:14.7 | what a starch looks like. It's made out of sugar. It's not called sugar. It can actually be |
| 1:20.1 | classified as zero sugar, but it really is sugar. It instantly turns in the sugar, but it'll |
| 1:26.4 | start to spike the blood sugar super fast. |
| 1:29.3 | And so multidextrin goes through a whole chemical process. |
| 1:32.3 | They start with corn starch, and then they add enzymes and acids and other chemicals to make |
| 1:37.3 | multodextrin. |
| 1:39.3 | It's an infant formula, protein shakes, weight gain formulas, but the blood sugar spike is just one tiny little bad thing |
| 1:47.9 | it does. Okay, it does a lot of other bad things, which I'm going to get into, but I first want to |
| 1:52.3 | clarify a couple cousins of multidextrin. Typically, you have regular starch, corn or potato, or rice. |
| 2:00.2 | But then when we get into industrial starches, what they do is |
