Father Dave Nix, welcome to the Jesse Romero show. Thanks for having me, Jesse. I'm going to tell you why I like this priest.

This is the priest that you can count on. He's got your back. I'll just say something real quick.

Satanus came to the Diocese of Phoenix several years ago, I think 2003, and I was trying to get lay Catholics to go out there to do prayers of reparation.

And there was this order that came from the chancery office about to the director to the Catholic priest.

Stand down, don't go out there and confront the Satanus.

You may get hurt something to that effect.

And I'm saying, how? What am I going to do? We need a priest out there. What happened? I called him up. He lives in Colorado.

He says, fly me over there and I'll be right there. And he was there with us for three days

praying with us. Frontline. This is the type of priest. We need more of him. Too bad we can't clone him.

Thanks. Great to be here, Jeff. We're going to talk about Thanksgiving today. And there's one of our

friends, our mutual friend, Dr. Taylor Marshall, good man. He talks about, well, first of all,

the word Thanksgiving, you're a priest.

Give me the etymology of that word. Why is so important versus Catholics?

So probably most of your listeners know that Eubris means Thanksgiving and we are called to make a

Thanksgiving after Mass. But, you know, it's also this reminder that we are thankful that

Christ died in our spot. And you'll have some Catholics out there say, well, it's also this reminder that we are thankful that Christ died in our spot.

And you'll have some Catholics out there say, well, that's a Protestant theology of

substitutionalism, but you're going to find that in the church fathers, that it is Jesus who took my spot.

What I could not fulfill trillions and trillions of years in hell for my sins, Christ took my place for in 17 hours of being

tortured. And so we know the mass is the exact same sacrifice as Calvary. And so when we approach

the mass, we know that all the merits of what Christ won on the cross is transmitted to the souls

who are living in grace. And for those who aren't in grace, all those merits of the cross of Jesus' crucifixion
