It's good to have you out at our church service, and we're going to just give thanks to the Lord for

wonderful things that he has been doing.

And we have five different testimonies this evening that we have invited to come and share with you.

But before we introduce them to you, I wanted to just share an article in a couple of scripture

verses.

This first is an article that was posted on Fox News.com written by Carrie Byrne.

And the title of the article was Meet the American Who Gave the Nation, Our Thanksgiving Origin Story.

And his name is Pilgrim, Edward Winslow.

And I just want to read a short little excerpt from this article.

It says a small band of Christian devotees persecuted in their homeland, sought refuge in a forbidden

wilderness across the vast ocean aboard a leaky ship in the autumn of 1620.

Against all odds following near death at sea, amid privation, disease, and frightening loss of

life, they planted the seeds of a daring new society.

Within a few generations, their descendants brazenly challenged the world monarchial order with the revolutionary statement that all men are created equal

and fought to establish the first great constitutional republic.

It became a haven for people just like them, the tired, the poor, the huddled masses,

yearning to breathe free.

They are the pilgrims.

And the article goes on to talk about Edward Winslow, who at the age of 24, boarded the Mayflower, came here

in 1620, and he is the only one among the pilgrims who recorded that first Thanksgiving

in the autumn of 1621. And he wrote a lengthy letter back to a friend in England

that has gone down in history that documented this first Thanksgiving from 1621. And what he
