So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

I am blessed this evening to be with a fantastic young adult group called Disciples Dwelling.

It's great to be with them.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Now let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for,

especially Amy, one of the founders of this young adult group who is in the hospital suffering from an autoimmune disorder and kidney trouble, so we need to ask our lady for

her intercession for Amy's healing.

Now we've been meditating on the fact that God is our father. He's all

good and his power is loving and we can trust him.

I want to share with you today a saint, a soon to be saint who knew the goodness of God the Father and lived in

Thanksgiving. Blessed Salanas Casey grew up in Wisconsin in the late 1800s and joined the Franciscans in

1894, but their seminary was taught in Latin and German. two languages Casey could not grasp.

And because of his difficulty with new languages,

they concluded he was not intelligent enough to give homilies or hear confessions.

So they ordained him, but under the condition that he would only do the tasks of a lay

brother could never preach, could never hear confession.

And even more humiliating, they made him the door man at the monastery in Detroit.

Nothing against Detroit.

I just don't think being a doorman was his aspiration.

Casey was misunderstood and treated unjustly and faced with something he could not change, he had two options.

He could quit and leave or he could wait and trust.
