The death toll from the Texas flooding has risen to more than a hundred people, and two dozen

are still missing.

A massive search is continuing involving hundreds of volunteers, with the weather expected

to be drier today and the rest of the week.

But even as rescue efforts are still going on, questions are being raised about whether people were properly warned about the floods.

A series of alerts were transmitted to mobile devices during the night,

but issues like reception, quality, or personal phone settings could have stopped them from getting

through. And several survivors told CNN they didn't get an alert. Kerr County took the brunt of the

devastation, and many children and adults died in the area, including dozens who were staying at

Camp Mystic. Kerrville City manager Dalton Rice was asked of local law enforcement communicated with the camp

ahead of the river breaking its banks at 5am.

Kirk County is a massive, massive area.

From here to those camps, it's 45 minutes on a good day.

A lot of those areas don't even have self-service.

Many of the countries President Donald Trump has hit with higher tariffs seem eager to

continue talks with the U.S. to strike better deals.

Yesterday, Trump announced new tariffs of up to 40% on about a dozen countries and a 25%

tariff on Japan and South Korea come August 1st. But Trump took some of the edge off,

by signing an executive action yesterday to extend the date for all so-called reciprocal tariffs

for August 1st as well, except for China. But when the president spoke to reporters, it appears

even the new date isn't set in stone. I would say firm, but not 100% firm.
