Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued the developers of colony Ridge

accusing them of deceptive sales, marketing, and misleading practices, saying, quote,

colony ridge has been flagrantly violating Texas law.

The lawsuit by your attorney general against Colony Ridge

alleges that Colony Ridge lies to customers about the condition of the land in order to make a sale of their property.

Residents of colony ridge filed dozens of complaints for years about the development to state agencies.

At least 11 consumer complaints were sent to the Attorney General's office about Colony Ridge

since 2019.

Paxton's suit echoes many of the claims in a U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit. That's the Biden Department of Justice, behind you, that was filed against Colony Ridge back in December, you'll recall.

In the state's lawsuit, Paxton argues the developers target foreign-born Latino consumers with a bait and

switch sales scheme that leads to sky- high foreclosure rates.

Paxton wrote in a statement, quote,

the development profited from targeting consumers

with fraudulent claims and predatory lending practices.

Their deceptive practices have created unjust and outsized harms.

Nearby communities have borne a tremendous cost for the scheme that made Colony Ridge's

developers of fortune. Also from the law student, quote,
