All right. Well, I don't have the music for some reason. My producer board is half off. That's weird because microphone is connected to it.

0:08.3

Microphone is working. The rest is off for some reason. All right. This is a friend Lambert for the Electric Podcast. New episode this week. And as usual, I'm joined by Seth Winshaw. Are you doing, Seth?

0:19.8

I'm good. All right. A crazy week Are you doing, Seth? I'm good.

0:21.7

All right.

0:28.5

A crazy week in the whole world this week, but relatively slow on EV news.

0:32.6

So we have a couple of news items to discuss with you guys for sure, but we're going to have plenty of time to get into the Q&A section.

0:36.4

So at the end of the show, as usual, we like to get your

0:38.7

guys input. So you can put in the comment section right now. It can be about any of the topics

0:43.5

that you see on the screen now if you're watching the video or any other topic in the EV

0:48.6

world you want us to discuss. You can put in the comment section and we get to it in about 30, 40

0:53.0

minutes. But we're going to it in about 30, 40 minutes.

1:00.5

But we're going to start out right away with Tesla sales numbers for the first month of the year coming out.

1:08.9

And a lot of people are tracking that very closely right now because of the Model Y changeover.

1:11.6

So the Model Y is by far the best selling electric vehicle in the world. And now it is transitioning to its new design. And that means transitioning to

1:18.3

production line and everywhere. It's one of the, it's the only test of vehicle that's built

1:23.2

everywhere in Shanghai, in Berlin, in Goetary, Texas, and in Fremont. So all these factories are changing over, and that will affect cells. That will affect production, which in term, will affect cells. So we're trying to track that very closely. But then with Tesla right now, you also have this issue of like, all right, how much is the Model Y having an impact? And obviously, any little change to the model Y in terms of production is going to have a big impact

1:46.5

because, like I said, it's not only the world's best-selling vehicle, but it's Tesla's best-sitting vehicle by a wide margin.

1:52.1

But there's also the Elon Musk's a bitling in politics right now is just not helping Tesla's reputation, not helping the credibility, and it's affecting sales. In Europe, specifically, so in Europe, we have monthly numbers. In U.S., we don't know what's happening right now. It's pretty opaque, the market. There's some data. There's a way it's inventory data to get an idea. So we should probably in the next two weeks have a little bit of an idea of what's happening with Tesla in the US, but not too much. In Europe, we have everything. So this week, we have basically all the main markets in Europe released their numbers. And Tesla is down on average about 50%. 50.4% to be, in January versus the same month last year.

2:35.8

Some markets are very brutal.

2:37.8

Germany down almost 60%, which was the biggest market.

2:41.6

France, 63%.

2:43.2

The UK is the one that's doing the best right now.
