Hey everybody Rob mower here and today we're talking about an important milestone

0:08.4

for Tesla.

0:09.1

Elon Musk has just tweeted out that Tesla today produced their one millionth vehicle as a company.

0:14.8

So first of all, huge congratulations to Tesla for that milestone

0:17.9

and I wanted to take a look quickly at what that might mean

0:20.3

for quarterly production.

0:21.4

I've already gotten some questions on

0:22.6

Twitter about this so I figured I just make a quick standalone

0:24.9

episode here to discuss that. Unfortunately Tesla's quarterly

0:28.0

production and delivery updates have not actually been a thing throughout

0:30.7

Tesla's entire history and even in their older earnings reports they didn't

0:34.4

necessarily share their production numbers every quarter so there are three quarters back in 2013 that I'm

0:39.4

missing production numbers for so if you're watching this on YouTube you can see those here along with the

0:43.7

rest of Tesla's production over the years. Now these numbers don't include the

0:47.1

Roadster and I assume Elon is counting those in this million vehicle production

0:50.4

number so we have to add those in here. Tesla produced just shy of 2,500 roadsters. production number

0:53.4

of, so we have to add those in here.

0:52.2

Tesla produced just shy of 2,500 roadsters.

0:55.2

And then the total production number that I have here for model S,

0:57.7

model X, and model 3 cumulatively,

0:59.8

excluding those three quarters that are missing data is about 900,600 vehicles and then to fill in the gap for those three quarters

1:06.8

We can at least a look at Tesla's deliveries over that period of time and that should get us pretty close to production
