In this episode we reveal new information about a case that has never been covered by a civilian podcast and most people have never heard of. We worked directly with members of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to tell the story of Teresa Solecki. Teresa was last known to be at a payphone in the middle of the night in Vista, California in 1984. Her nude body was found before she was even known to be missing, miles away from where she was last known to be. With very few clues, police were stumped, until they decided to make Teresa’s case a test case for forensic genealogy. After a year of work, they finally found her killer – much, much too late.

1:28.1	It was 1984. 29-year-old Teresa Selecki. It was 1984. Twenty-nine-year-old Teresa Selecki had just returned from a quick girl's trip to Mexico with her girlfriend Patty a day or so earlier. But on this Tuesday, January 10th, Patty wasn't feeling so well. In fact, she had been suffering for some time from what are sometimes delicately referred to as female issues. Teresa felt that Patty needed to see a doctor. But Patty
1:34.9	was short on money and didn't have a doctor she visited regularly, so she demurred. Teresa suggested
1:40.9	that Patty go see a doctor that Irene, Teresa's sister and roommates, swore by.
1:45.8	She said that she would get the doctor's name for her friend. In the meantime, the two laid low at Patty's
1:51.1	house on Woodland Avenue in Vista, California, in San Diego County. After a time, Patty felt a little
1:58.3	better. The two young women were hungry, so they decided to head to a local tavern called Smitty's Bar to get some burgers and maybe a beer.
2:06.7	The two jumped into Teresa's car and drove the half-mile to Smitties, located at 2577 South Santa Fe Avenue in Vista for a burger and some beers.
2:19.6	Teresa and Patty were well known at Smitties.
2:24.1	Teresa worked as a cocktail waitress back in those days, sometimes referred to as a barmaid,
2:29.2	and had worked at Smitties in the past. Patty was local to the neighborhood Smitties was in,
2:35.9	and she was a regular there. The two young women felt at home in the cozy bar, which had a total of about 10 patrons that night. They ended up staying very late and didn't leave Smitty's until about 1.45 a.m. They headed back
2:42.8	to Patty's house, and Patty started to feel poorly again. That's it, Teresa decided. I'm going to
2:48.7	get the name of my sister's OBGYN for you.
2:51.7	The only problem was Patty didn't have a phone. It had been turned off because low on funds,
