Hi, everyone and welcome to this new episode of explicitly pro-life.

I'm Kristen Hawkins.

And today I'm asking the question,

does hormonal contraception cause abortions? This is something that's very controversial

throughout the world and throughout the United States, especially in college campuses where I've

been speaking at. And sometimes it's even controversial within the pro-life movement. So today I have a special

guest, Teresa Kenny. Teresa is a nurse practitioner at the Pope Hall of Sixth Institute here in

Omaha, Nebraska. This is where we're at today. And I've asked Teresa to come on to kind of have this

discussion about contraception, about the side effects of contraception, because often when I'm on campuses,

and I kind of make that argument of, you know, sex, contraception, abortion, that's kind of

the cycle that Planned Parenthood, that deceptive business cycle that Planned Parenthood has

created for children and young women. But it's kind of always new information.

Like they've heard that abortion kills a human being. But then we talk about the negative

side effects of contraception, whether or not it can be abortifacient or whether or not it can

harm women. It always seems to be new information.

And there's really not, I don't think, a good dialogue in our country about what contraception

really does to women.

In fact, there was a Good Morning America segment not long ago where a researcher from

Baylor came on, talked about how she was starting, she was started on contraception,

her feelings towards her husband changed. She wasn't desiring him sexually. Her sex drive went

down. All these things were happening in her life. So she realized, wait a minute, what have I done

differently? Oh, I started hormonal birth control. She went off of it and everything went back to normal.
