Dr. Evans says temptation comes at us from three different dangerous sources.

Today he exposes each one of those ways to us and tells us how we can recognize and reject their schemes.

Let's join him as he begins.

And overweight business man, when they came to his office with donuts.

He was supposed to be on a diet and so his office mates wanted to know what in the world you're doing with all these donuts.

What he said was like this on my way to work today, I inadvertently passed a donut shop.

And so I was struggling, I was tempted to want the donuts, but I prayed, I said, Lord, if you want me to get some donuts today, then would you make a parking space right in front of the donut shop?

And then I'll know you want me to get donuts today.

So after my tenth time around the block, I found a parking space right in front of the donut shop.

All of us knows what it is to face temptation.

All of us knows what it is to be defeated by temptation.

Temptation is solicitation to do evil.

It is being solicited to sin.

What is interesting is that the same Greek word translated trials is the very same word translated temptation.

So they're not two words, two separate words.

It's the same Greek word because it can be translated either trials or temptation depending on the source,

the purpose and the outcome.

So when we face temptation, often we're facing God at work, Satan at work simultaneously.
