tarot bites, the podcast where I dish out short entertaining bite-sized lessons on

how to read tarot.

For today's episode, our topic is temperance.

So go ahead and grab your decks and let's begin.

So last week we talked about the death card and this week we're looking at the

card that follows which is temperance. The death card symbolizes change and the Temperance card is the healing and

alchemy that comes after change. Think of this card like this. Once we've gone

through a shift we need time to resettle or recuperate.

We need time to balance.

That's the essence of temperance in a nutshell.

So let's go ahead and take a peek at the symbols in this card. So you'll notice that the figure is flowing water between two cups.

This is a symbol of transformation and integration. You know, what might you be

taken away from a situation? What might you be adding to it? You know, those are questions

that you might ask yourself when you see this card in a spread

Now if you also look at the picture you'll see that the angel has one foot in the water and one on the earth. This symbolizes the link between the

unconscious and the earthly plane. I often interpret this as testing the waters too.

Because you know sometimes we need to dip a toe in the water

to see if it's safe or to see how it feels. So in the background there's a path which is a symbol of a journey,

or maybe the return from one.

And there's a gold crown, the crown of success, rising over that path. So that tells you that on the horizon
