the Tarot coloring book and your host for this podcast series. This is episode 25 of Tarot Bites, the

podcast where I dish out short entertaining bite-sized lessons on how to retero.

For today's episode, our topic is the devil.

So let's begin.

Oh, the devil, you know, next to the death card,

this one really freaks people out in fact it's one of the

scarier looking cards of the deck you know it's got these two naked people they're chained to

this big old demon and and you know, it's no wonder people shudder

when this card turns up in a tarot reading. I think oftentimes people think, you know, this means something

evil is coming. Well, hold on a minute,

let's break this bad boy down and see if we can make him a little less intimidating.

So I want you to notice the inverted star in his head. Now remember the

Pinnacle suit has a star in it too, but those stars are right side up and they

symbolize the material side of life. Here, the

stars upside down. So it's a symbol of the left-hand path or black magic or even materialism, you know, like the negative side of money.

You'll also notice that the figures are bound by chains.

Chains are a symbol of bondage, slavery, or being controlled.

And here that demon seems to be in control.

Right away, this symbolism says, you're being controlled by your inner demons.

You'll also notice that those chains are loose and the figures really don't seem to be too

bothered by them.
