Hello and welcome to the StoryGrid podcast. My name is Tim Graal. I'm the CEO of StoryGrid,

and I'm a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a story that works.

Joining me shortly is Sean Coyne. He's the creator and founder of StoryGrid, and everything

that we teach inside of StoryGrid is based on his tools and methodology that he's

developed over 30 years of being an editor and storyteller. Along with him is Leslie Watts, our

editor-in-chief of StoryGrid Publishing, and Daniel Kiyoski, the chief academic officer of

StoryGrid University. Now, in this week's episode, we had big plans to talk a lot about

the Guild, because right now, the Guild is open for registration for the new semester. Instead,

we kind of went off on this tangent. And at first, we weren't even planning on making this

a part of the podcast, but I just hit record just so that we

would kind of keep track of it. And we were talking about what we're doing with this podcast,

if it's serving the right purpose and the goal that we have. You know, we've been running this

podcast now. If you've been paying attention attention it's been like seven years right so and

again it started seven years ago with sean and i just deciding like hey you know you need content

you know i said you need content for your platform i want to learn how to be a better writer why don't

we just start this podcast right and at the time all of, all of StoryGrid was a book, right? That was all

that was StoryGrid, a book and a website. Now, of course, it's turned into this amazing platform that

it's become that's helping thousands and thousands of writers. But it's good to always kind of

step back and decide, like, what are we doing here?

What are we trying to accomplish?

Is this the best way to do it?

And again, when we were planning on this podcast episode, it was going to be kind of to talk about the guild and everything you're going to learn in the guild.
