Roosevelt's Pocket Watch finally makes it home after being stolen nearly four decades ago.

And on this day in history, the Andre Expedition of 1897 sets out for the North Pole by balloon,

and it does not go well. We'll have the details coming up on

cool stuff. Per the AP, a mystery that has endured for 36 years has been solved. Well, somewhat. At least a

stolen item has finally been returned home. A silver pocket watch that was a prize possession of

Theodore Roosevelt, a keepsake given to him by his sister and her husband in 1898 before he became president, a watch that would travel with him around the world and end up at Segamore Hill, his home on Long Island, New York, and now a natural historic site.

Well, that watch went missing in 1987. That year, it went from a museum piece to a stolen item when someone took it from an

on-locked case at the Theodore Roosevelt inaugural Natural Historic Site in Buffalo, New York,

where it was on loan.

Last year, the watch turned up at a Florida auction house and was seized by federal agents.

Last week, it was returned to public display at Sagmore Hill as the

National Park Service and the FBI triumphantly announced it was back home during a ceremony

featuring Roosevelt's great-grandson, Tweed Roosevelt. 82-year-old Tweed said, quote,

this was feel-good news. For me, it kind of felt like almost as if a piece of TR spirit being returned to

Sagamore Hill, like a little bit of him was coming back. And so I felt that was really cool, end
