Coming up on today's episode, how NASA intends to destroy the International Space Station.

You heard that correctly, Destroy. Weird Wednesday has more bizarre world records, cows

stampeding through town, and a disgusting site at Yosemite National Park. Plus, on this day in history,

Lady Godiva bears it all and rides. Or did she? That's coming up on cool stuff. Well, if you're like me,

you had no idea the International Space Station's shelf life was set to expire in the not too distant

future. It's poised to be decommissioned in the year 2030.

So the next logical question, at least as I see it, is what's to become of the ISS and is there a

planned successor for low Earth orbit? A recent story from Tom Haworth and the BBC's science focus

brings us some answers. Of course, for some young people, the ISS has been around for the entirety of their life,

with astronauts and cosmonauts having continuously occupied the satellite since it began operation

in the year 2000 orbiting Earth every 90 minutes.

During its tenure, the space-based laboratory is served as a home for scientific experimentation,

as well as research into long-term space travel and international collaboration.

Today, 280 astronauts have journeyed to the station representing no less than 23 countries.
