It's Christmas Eve.

The kids are terribly excited.

Yep.

It's, I was out this morning, the final frenzy before Christmas.

I said to my wife, I don't understand why everyone gets so out, bent out of shape about Christmas.

I know it's like in the US, but here, the shops closed for Christmas Day. They're all open the day after onboxing day. And yet people buy food. I know they often have people coming over everything, but basically, even if you have family over, you've got to feed them for a day. In the Western world, people are unlikely to starve, and yet people buy food

like there's a hurricane coming.

Yes, because I kind of get that. Now, I was an only child growing up. It was just me and my parents,

but we'd always go over to my grandmothers. And when you went over to my grandmothers, you know,

she had eight kids. And now when I was a kid,

of course, those eight kids had kids of their own, my cousins. Now, they weren't all there at the

same time, very rare when the whole family got together. But if the average was having, you know,

one kid in addition to your spouse, that's, you know, you're starting to talk about 25, 30 people.

So it gets, you know, Christmas gatherings can get pretty big.

And it does take a lot of food to feed that many people.

Yeah.

Well, well, for a start, I think in America you do bigger gatherings than we do.
