Roll, your host. Happy Easter, if you're celebrating, or however you're celebrating. I still

celebrate Easter. I love Easter. I actually think I might like Easter even more now, hot take,

maybe, as an ex-Mormon, ex-Christian woman. And that's what we're

going to be talking about today. We're going to be talking about all things Easter, what it's like

to celebrate as an ex-religious person. We're going to be talking about the Mormon rebrand of Easter.

They are now doing this whole Holy Week thing,

Palm Sunday thing, and what that means about the trajectory of Mormonism as they try to assimilate with mainstream Christianity. And we're going to be talking about drum roll, please,

death. Because I think the Easter story is

ultimately a reckoning with death and there's a lot of interesting meat to dig into when it comes

to resurrection theology what that says about death and about life and what it's like to unpack all of that.

First things first, Mormon Holy Week, question mark. I've had many of you point this out to me,

and I've also noticed it myself because we got a flyer placed on our door in the neighborhood,

and I saw a lot of signs on the LDS churches

around town that were promoting this Palm Sunday Easter celebration, a Mormon church thing,

come worship with us for Palm Sunday. And I think that was an interesting thing to witness,

as many of us grew up Mormon and never

heard a peep about Palm Sunday or about Holy Week. And so seeing this push was really interesting.

And then on Palm Sunday, the actual day, I actually didn't see any of this personally, but I had a

lot of people reaching out or like sharing things with me that their Mormon friends, family members, acquaintances were sharing a lot about Palm Sunday.

Kind of weird because it seems like a very new thing to be doing.
