I raise this point with a, with a front of the show who's a virologist, and I said, you know,

when I see this next sentence, which I'm going to read to you in a second, it makes me think

that maybe also some of those high efficacy numbers that we saw in the trials

actually also have to do with the fact that NPIs were layered with the vaccine rollout

because, you know, we got these numbers of above 90% efficacy, which is awesome for vaccines.

Because vaccines, you know, and a lot of it was like attributed to the

mRNA technology, which like obviously that definitely is a huge factor because this is not a

vaccine technology that we have used before. But I think that there's also in this tiny little

sentence and these two sentences and this MMWR,

I think there's beginning, there's like the beginning of a hint of like how the layering of NPI has actually impacted the efficacy of the vaccine, which I positively.

Right.

So it says using the reported 37% vaccination coverage for the 13 jurisdictions studied during

April 4th to June 19th. And an assumption of 90% vaccine efficacy, vaccinated persons would

have been expected to account for 6% of cases, which is close to the 5% of cases they

observed in that first period. With 53% of coverage

reported during the second studied period, which is June 20th to July 17th, vaccinated persons were

expected to account for 10% of cases at a constant vaccine efficacy percentage of 90.

The observed 18% would have been expected at a lower vaccine efficacy of 80%.

And now one paragraph later, they say within each age group,

the percentage of vaccinated persons among cases, hospitalizations, and deaths increased with
