Jaylawny Owens. Jaylaani is a black queer Muslim writer, facilitator, researcher, and abortion

doula based in the greater Atlanta metro area. With a formal background in law and policy,

Jaylani's work primarily focuses on international human rights, body sovereignty, family policing,

abolition, and eliminating other forms of patriarchal violence. Jaylani is a co-steward of the

trans-futurist collective, an emerging community of queer and trans-reproductive

careworkers resisting anti-black and anti-transviolence, and a community dula with the Edia

collective.

Jaylani is also the author of the zine called Friends Help Friends Have Abortions, which is a fantastic

resource that offers, among a lot of other things, a really accessible overview of security

and legal basics that are so necessary in our current landscape.
