Hey Runners Connect fans, Coach Michael Hammond here with another Team Runners Connect update.

0:12.3

So I want to do this week's a little bit differently.

0:14.4

Instead of talking about just like what's going on

0:17.4

within the community, what's going on with our athletes,

0:19.4

because as has been the case for so many weeks,

0:21.9

there's not necessarily as much going on as perhaps in a normal week because of all the races being cancelled, no meetups and everything.

0:30.0

We've had to cancel both of our running retreats that were planned for this July and August.

0:35.2

So lots of disappointing stuff, but instead I want to do a little bit more of kind of like what

0:41.5

we've learned type of podcast today. So really the kind of like what we've learned type of podcast today.

1:07.3

oh my God, coronavirus, we think of all the crazy stuff going on in the

1:10.7

world, that's kind of where our heads are at. So the biggest lessons learned

1:15.0

from a running perspective all kind of revolve around one like central topic as it pertains to

1:20.8

running. This is the biggest running lessons learned. You know, I'm not going to talk about this or that as it pertains to coronavirus or anything bigger going on in the world, but from a running perspective, I really think the biggest lesson learned has been and really just kind of the overall topic here is that you have to be adaptable.

1:38.6

Your training absolutely must be adaptable and that can mean a lot of different things but really what it means at its core is you got to kind of roll with the punches.

1:48.0

I mean I think the punch this week that I go back to a quote that my old coach used to used to say he said

1:56.1

everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. I believe it's a Mike Tyson
